| Sun | the star at the center of the Solar System |
| Gravity | a natural force that causes two objects to pull toward each other depending on their masses and the distance between them. |
| Craters | bowl-shaped indention |
| Orbit | the path one object takes as it goes around another object in space. |
| Moon | a natural satellite that orbits a planet. |
| Rotate | to spin on an axis: 24 hour period causing day/night cycle |
| Axis | a line, real or imaginary, around which something spins. |
| Apparent movement | Earth’s rotation during the day gives the false appearance of the sun moving from east to the west across the sky. |
