TermDefinition
A.M Care Care given in the early morning when the patient first awakens.
Caries Tooth decay or cavities.
Dentures Artificial teeth.
Halitosis Bad breath.
Oral Hygiene Care of the mouth and teeth.
Periodontal Disease Potentially serious condition that damages the soft tissue and bone that supports the the teeth.
P.M Care Care given to prepare a patient for sleep.
Anticoagulant Medication that thins the blood and increases the risk of bleeding.
Bridging Supporting the body on either side of an affected area to realize pressure on the area.
Foot board Appliance placed at the foot of the bed so that the feet rest firmly against it and are kept at right angles to the legs.
Foot drop Neurological problem that causes the foot to point downward.
Incontinent Unable to control retention of urine or feces.
Fracture Bedpan Used for patients who can not elevate the pelvic area.
