| A.M Care | Care given in the early morning when the patient first awakens. |
| Caries | Tooth decay or cavities. |
| Dentures | Artificial teeth. |
| Halitosis | Bad breath. |
| Oral Hygiene | Care of the mouth and teeth. |
| Periodontal Disease | Potentially serious condition that damages the soft tissue and bone that supports the the teeth. |
| P.M Care | Care given to prepare a patient for sleep. |
| Anticoagulant | Medication that thins the blood and increases the risk of bleeding. |
| Bridging | Supporting the body on either side of an affected area to realize pressure on the area. |
| Foot board | Appliance placed at the foot of the bed so that the feet rest firmly against it and are kept at right angles to the legs. |
| Foot drop | Neurological problem that causes the foot to point downward. |
| Incontinent | Unable to control retention of urine or feces. |
| Fracture Bedpan | Used for patients who can not elevate the pelvic area. |
