| CHF | Congestive Heart Failure: also called heart failure. A condition in which the heart can not pump enough blood throughout the body |
| COPD | Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease: a lung disease that makes it hard to breath |
| CVA | Cerebrovascular Accident: a stroke or “brain attack” |
| Lou Gehrig’s Disease | Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis: also known as ALS, it is a progressive and fatal disease that affects the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord |
| Parkinson’s | Parkinson’s Disease is a neurodegenerative disease of mainly the central nervous system that affects both the motor and non-motor systems of the body |
| Aase-Smith Syndrome | A rare inherited disorder characterized by amnesia with some joint and skeletal deformities. The genetic basis of the disease is not known |
| Addison’s Disease | Also known as Primary Adrenal Insufficiency, a rare long-term endocrine disorder that occurs when the adrenal glands are damaged and can not produce enough hormones. It is a lifelong condition that is treated with steroid hormone replacement therapy. |
| Crohn’s Disease | Named after Burrill B. Crhon, it is a chronic inflammatory bowl disease characterized by recur at episodes of intestinal inflammation, primarily manifesting as diarrhea and abdominal pain. |
