contraindication situation in which a treatment or an action is inappropriate.
full weight-bearing (FWB) able to stand of both legs.

nonweight-bearing (NWB) unable to stand or walk on one or both legs
paralysis inability to move of any extremity.

parial weight-bearing (PWB) unable to bear full weight on one or both legs
pivot to twist or turn the entire body as one unit
sitting (lateral) transfer patient sits throughout the transfer, such as when a sliding board is used
sliding board a plastic or wooden board about two feet long that has a slippery surface
standing transfer patient stands during the transfer with the help of one or two nursing assistants.
