Diagnosis identify the nature of an illness
Tumor abnormal cell growth
Benign not cancerous
Malignant cancerous
Cells basic unit of life
Cell cycle the life cycle of a cell
Interphase the stage in a cell cycle where a cell grows, replicates its DNA, and prepares for cell division; longest phase
Mitosis the stage in a cell cycle where a cell replicates itself and makes a daughter cell
S-phase the stage in a cell cycle where DNA is replicated
G-1 the stage in cell cycle where cell grows, makes more organelles, checkpoint before S phase
G-2 the stage in cell cycle where it checks to make sure that DNA replication was done correctly before mitosis
Check points pausing points where the cell makes sure that the cell is healthy and ready for the next step
