| Go over | To review or examine something carefully. Ex: I will go over the exam's official answers, because I guess the last one is wrong. |
| Get through | To successfully complete or pass something. Ex: My brother managed to get through his driving test. |
| Give up | To stop doing something or quit a habit. Ex: Mr. Watson gave up smoking, since the doctor warned him about his ailing health. |
| Looking forward to | To anticipate something with pleasure. Ex: I'm looking forward to our beach day because I feel extremely stressed on these days. |
| Look after | To take care of someone or something. Ex: Our neighbour always looks after her poppies and sunflowers before going to work. |
| Look into | To investigate or examine something. Ex: Let's look into new subjects to develop digital skills. |
| Make up for | To compensate for something bad or missing. Ex: My dad made up for being absent on my brother's birthday by travelling abroad with him. |
| Pick up | To learn or acquire something informally. Ex: I picked up basic French when I attended an internship program in Montreal. |
| Put off | To delay or pospone something. Ex: We put off our cousins' meeting to November as we couldn't agree on a specific date. |
| Put up with | To tolerate or endure something unpleasant. Ex: I learned to put up with my work colleague's mistreatment, because I needed experience as an intern. |
