Scientific Method

TermDefinition
Experiment This step includes the materials and directions that you will follow
Hypothesis This is an educated guess for the answer to the problem
Problem This is the question that you want to answer in the experiment
Observations This step includes a chart or table with the data you gathered when doing the experiment
Conclusion You write this after doing the experiment and analyzing the data
Independent This variable is the one change in the experiment
Dependent This variable is the data or results of the change in the experiment
Controlled This variable stays the same in the experiment
Data This is the measurements, such as time or height, that you find during the experiment
Analyze To look closely at data to compare and find patterns.
