| seismologist | a scientist who monitors the vibrations inside the earth |
| earthquake | sudden movement of the earth's surface, felt as vibrating, rolling, and rumbling |
| magma | hot liquid rock beneath the surface of the earth that is pushed from a volcano |
| squalls | strong twisting winds that develop out of thunderstorms |
| hurricane | a huge spinning storm that forms over warm ocean water |
| volcano | a landform above a magma chamber, usually looking like a large dome or mountain |
| windshear | winds blowing from two different directions in a twisting motion |
| tsunami | a huge wave of water that crashes on shore after a disturbance occurs under the ocean |
| storm surge | the fast moving, rising wall of water that pushes onto shore with a hurricane |
| tornado | a storm with high twisting winds that forms over land |
