| Term | Definition |

| Felxion | Decreasing the angle between two bones. |
| Extension | Increasing the angle between two bone. |
| Rotation | Circular motion in a ball-and-sockets joint. |
| Abduction | Moving away from the midline. |
| Adduction | Moving toward the midline. |
| Rom ( range of motion) - | Series of exercises specifically designed to move each joint through its full range. |
| PROM ( passive range of motion) | Preformed for patients when independent movement is impossible. Exercise maintain movement and prevent deformities. |
| Supination | With the arm parallel to the body (palm up, flexed and extend the elbow). |
| Pronation | Palm down ( parallel, flexed and extend the elbow). |
| Inversion | Turning inward. |
| Eversion | Turning outward. |
| Radial Deviation | Wrists are turned toward the thumb side. |
| Ulnar deviation | With the hand in supination, lateral movement of the wrist. |
| Dorsification | Toes pointed up |
| Plantar flexion | Extending the foot in a downward movement. |
