| What does a anemometer measure? | Measures the wind speed. |
| What does a barometer measure? | Measures the air pressure. |
| What does a weather radar do? | Detects approaching rainfall. |
| What are weather satallites used for? | To monitor cloud cover, and the surface temperature of the land and sea. |
| What does a hygrometer measure? | Measures the amount of air humidity in the air (amount of moisture/ water vapour). |
| What are isobars? | Used to indicate the flow of air around water systems. |
| What does hPa stand for? what is a unit of pressure? | Hectopascals |
| What does isobars being close to each other mean? | This shows where the winds are strongest. |
| What does high pressure cause? | Has weathers that are dry, settled, and has light winds |
| What does low pressure cause? | Has cold, wet, and windy weathers. |
| What're the differences in high pressure in the northern compared to the southern hemisphere. | The winds rotate clockwise. |
| What're the differences in high pressure in the southern compared to the northern hemisphere. | The winds rotate counter-clockwise. |
| What does a cold front cause? | Causes warm air to rise, cool and condense into cloud droplets. Sudden drops in temperature |
| What does a warm front cause? | Displaces cool air with warmer air - not common in Australia. |
