Information Literacy Ability to recognize when information is needed and to locate, evaluate, and use the needed information effectively.
Copyright Act of 1976 the most current copyright law that only provides rights to the copyright holder.
Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) passed in 1998 as a reaction ro growing electronic commerce that not only hieghtened the penalties for copyright infringement on the internet, but also impacted education.
Fair Use refers to the part of U.S. copyright law that allows limited use of copyrighted material without requiring permission from the copyright holder.
Public Domain creatice works or information that are not owned by an individual and are not protected by intellectual property laws.
Creative Commons Licensing Guidelines whereby content creators allow or limit others' abilities to copy, edit, remix, build upon, or distribute all or parts of their work.
