| Evaporation | happens when a liquid turns into a gas. |
| Condensation | the conversion of a vapor or gas to a liquid. |
| Precipitation | water released from clouds in the form of rain, freezing rain, sleet, snow, or hail. |
| Runoff | the draining away of water (or substances carried in it) from the surface of an area of land, a building or structure, etc. |
| Collection | the action or process of collecting someone or something. |
| Transpiration | the process of water movement through a plant and its evaporation from aerial parts, such as leaves, stems and flowers. |
| Qualitative | relating to, measuring, or measured by the quality of something rather than its quantity. |
| Quantitative | relating to, measuring, or measured by the quantity of something rather than its quality. |
| Matter | physical substance in general, as distinct from mind and spirit; (in physics) that which occupies space and possesses rest mass, especially as distinct from energy. |
| Chemical Change | any change that causes a new substance to be formed |
| Physical change | a change to a sample of matter in which some properties of the material change, but the identity of the matter does not. |
