Describing Motion
| Question | Answer |

| Average speed | total distance an object traveled by the total time it has traveled |
| Displacement | how far an object has moved from its original position; the difference between the final and initial positions |
| Motion | an object changes its position |
| Speed | the distance an object moves per unit of time, such as miles per hour |
| Velocity | speed in a direction |
| Acceleration | increase in the rate or speed of something. |
| Constant speed | When the speed of an object remains the same - it does not increase or decrease |
| Decreasing | places on the graph where the slope is negative. |
| Distance | measures the length between objects or points without regard for direction. |
| Distance-Time Graph | shows how far an object has travelled in a given time. |
| Increasing | places on the graph where the slope is positive. |
| Linear | arranged in or extending along a straight or nearly straight line. |
| Position | a place or point where something or someone is located or has been placed in relation to other things. |
| Stationary | it doesn't move. |
| Time | used to quantify the duration of events. |
