| What is Rosacea? | A chronic condition that results in a dilation of superficial blood vessels on the cheeks and nose and causes papules and pustules. |
| How do you get Rosacea? | Heat, sunlight, severe sunburn, stress, anxiety , cold wind. |
| What can you do internally to prevent Rosacea? | Avoid spicy foods and drinks such as hot tea and coffee. Foods high in histamines, such as red wine, beer, cured pork products, such as bacon, aged cheese and yogurt. |
| What are histamines? | They are an important protein involved in many allergic reactions. They trigger the body's inflammatory responses. |
| What is a papule? | A solid elevation of the skin with no visible fluid, varying in size from a pin head to 5mm. |
| What is a pustule? | A small elevation of the skin containing cloudy, purulent (pus) material usually consisting of necrotic inflammatory cells. |
| What is proteolytic? | A group of enzymes that break the long chainlike molecules of proteins into shorter fragments. |
| What is telangiectasia? | Capillaries that may be distended, swollen, dilated, sometimes found with papules and pustules. A result of rosacea. |
| What are endothelial cells? | These are found within the thin wall lining the interior surface of blood vessels. These cells reduce turbulence of the flow of blood allowing the fluid to be pumped farther. |
| What is collagen? | A group of naturally occurring proteins. Collagen fibers are bundles of fibrils. A.K.A The glue that holds the body together. |
