solstice where the sun appears to reach either its highest or lowest point in the sky
full moon the moon phase where the entire moon is visible to earth
tides the rise and fall of the ocean's levels, caused by the moons gravitational pull on earth
revolution to move in a circular or curving course or orbit. earth revolves around the sun and the moon revolves around earth.
umbra the darkest part of the shadow that is cast in a lunar eclipse
waxing a moon phase where the moon's visibility is getting bigger
first quarter the phase halfway between the new moon and the full moon
