Earth Day
| Term | Definition |

| recycle | Reclaiming or reprocessing items so they may once again be made into something useful |
| repurpose | The process of transforming by-products, waste materials, useless or unwanted products into new materials or products |
| reduce | To cut back on the amount of trash we generate |
| reuse | To find new ways to use things that otherwise would have been thrown out |
| redesign | Identifying our most wasteful practices and reimagining ways to reduce their impact |
| renewable | Those resources that continue to exist despite being consumed or can replenish themselves over a period of time even as they are used |
| non-renewable | A resource that cannot be replaced once used |
| fossil fuels | Energy sources like oil, coal and natural gas. Are non-renewable resources that formed when prehistoric plants and animals died |
| commercial airlines | The main contributor to global CO2 emissions on the planet |
| refuse | To NOT buy or accept products that can harm you, your surroundings and the environment |
| rethink | Using alternative products and considering how you can further reduce your environmental footprint |
| repair | To replace a part or to fix what is broken instead of throwing it away |
| refurbish | The process of taking something and using it for a separate purpose |
