Phase of the cell cycle
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| metaphase | chromosomes line up in the middle |
| anaphase | chromosomes move away or apart to the opposite sides of the cell |
| telephase | two nuclei start to form . We can see the beginning of two cells |
| interphase | longest phase . Cell spends majority of its time here, The end chromosomes make copies. |
| Prophase | First stage of mitosis. The Nucleus dissoloves. The spindle fibers pull away |
| cytokinesis | The cytoplasm finishes dividing |
| The sister chromatids are moving apart | anaphase |
| The nuclear membrane fades (dissolves) from view | prophase |
| Two new nuclear membranes are formed around the chromosomes | telophase |
| The cytoplasm of the cell is being divided | cytokinesis |
| The chromatin is found in the nucleus but not easily seen. | interphase |
| The spindle fibers are formed. | prophase |
| Chromosomes line up along the equator. | meaphase |
| The phase of the cell cycle that a cell spends the majority of its life time | interphase |
| Chromatids move apart toward opposite poles. | anaphase |
| A cell has 12 chromosomes. How a many chromosomes will each daughter cell have at the end of of mitosis? | 12 |
