Nonrenewable resources are resources that are used faster than they can be replaced by natural processes.
Renewable resources are resources that can be replaced by natural processes in a relatively short amount of time.
Nuclear energy energy released form atomic reactions.
Reclamation is a process in which mined land must be recovered with soil and replanted with vegetation.
Solar energy is energy from the sun.
Wind farm a group of wind turbines that produce electricity.
Hydroelectric power electricity produced by flowing water.
Geothermal energy thermal energy from Earth's interior
Biomass energy Is energy produced by burning organic matter, such as wood, foods scraps, and alcohol.
Ore are deposits of minerals that are large enough to be mined for a profit.
Deforestation is the cutting of a large areas of forest for human activities.
Photochemical smog is a brownish haze produced when nitrogen compounds, and other pollutants in the air react in the sunlight.
Acid precipitation is precipitation that has a pH less than 5.6.
