TermDefinition
Interphase: Chromosomes are copied and appear as threadlike coils. This is the longest phase out of them all
Prophase: Mitosis begins - Centrioles appear and begin to move to opposite ends of the cell. Spindle fibers form between the Centriole
Metaphase: Chromatids attach to the spindle fibers
Anaphase: Chromatids separate and begin to move to opposite ends of the cell
Telophase: Two new nuclei form, Chromosomes appear as chromatin and mitosis ends here.
Cytokinesis: Cell membrane moves inward to create two daughter cells - each with its own nucleus with identical chromosomes.
