What is a volcanoe? a vent or fissure in the Earth's surface through wich magma and gasses expelled
What is a magma chamber? the body of molten rock that feeds a volcanoe
What is a vent? an opening at the suface of the Earth through wich volcanic material passes
What is a crater? a funnel-shaped pit near the top of the central vent of a volcanoe
What is a caldera? a large semicirclar depression that forms when the magma chamber below a volcanoe partily empties and causes the ground above to sink
What is lave plateau? a wide flat planfrom that results from reapeted nonexplosive eruptions of lava that spread over a large area
What is a rift zone? an area of deep cracks that form between two tectonic plates that are pulling away from each other
What is a hotspot? a volcanicly active area of Earth's surface far from a tectonic plate boundary
