Matter

TermDefinition
Matter material that has mass and takes up space
Solid has a firm, stable shape
Liquid a fluid substance that flows easily
Gas air like substance
Evaporation a liquid is heated and turns into a gas
Condensation a gas is cooled and turns into a liquid
Qualitative describes the quality
Quantitative describes using numbers
Solution new substance is formed, and can only be separated by evaporation.
Mixture items are still the same, can be separated easily with hands or filters.
Physical Property the way an object looks or feels
Chemical Property the way an objects behaves chemically or when it has a reaction
Physical Change changes the appearance of the object
Chemical Change changes the substance completely and cannot be reversed
Law of Conservation of Mass mass cannot be created or destroyed
