| Rotation | The spinning of an object around its axis |
| Relvolution | The motion of an object as it travels in an elliptical path |

| Satellite | An object that object that orbits a larger body, such as planet |
| Asteroid | Small rocky objects that orbit the Sun, primaily found between mars and jupiter |
| Comet | An object composed of ice dust, and gas that orbits the Sun in an elongated orbit |
| Meteor | A small rock from space that enters Earth's atmosphere, often called a shooting star |
| Meteorite | A meteor that lands on the Earth's surface |
| Galaxy | A huge collection of stars, dust, and gas |
| Star | A massive sphere which emits light and heat |
| Nebula | A cloud of gas and dust in space, where stars are bom |
| Gravity | The force of attraction between objects with mass |
| Eclipse | When one object moves into the shadow of another object, such as a solar eclipse or a lunar eclipse |
| Phase | The apparent shape of the moon seen from Earth, which changes |
| Constellation | A group of stars that from a recognizable pattern in the sky |
| Light-year | The distance that light travels in one year |
| Spacecraft | A vehicle designed for travel in outer space |
| Solar Flare | Sudden and intense burst of energy from the Sun's surface |
| Space Probe | An ummanned spacecraft designed to explore outer planet |
| Outer space | The vast expanse beyond Earth's atmosphere |
| Pluto | A dwarf planet located in a distant region of our solar system beyond Neptune |
| Goldlilocks planet | A planet is the right distance from its Sun to allow temperatures for liquid water. Not too hot, not too cold |
| Galileo | an Italian astronomer who discovered that the Sun not the Earth- was the senter of the solar system |
| telescope | an opitcal instrument designed to make distant objects appear nearer |
