Ecosystem all the living and non-living things that interact with each other in an environment.
Organism any living thing, plant, animal, fungus, bacteria, etc.
Flow of energy the transfer of energy through a food chain or web, beginning with the producer
Food chain the path of food energy from one organism to another in an ecosystem.
Food web a connection of food chains with many energy paths
Producer an organism that uses sunlight to make its own food for energy
Consumer organism that gets energy by eating other organisms
Decomposer an organism that gets energy by eating dead organisms
Abiotic the nonliving parts of an ecosystem: Soil, water, rock, minerals, sunlight (SWARMS)
Biotic the living or once-living parts of an ecosystem
