Unit 6
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Second-Degree Heart Block | Atrial rhythm is regular while ventricular rhythm is irregular due to missing ORS complexes. |
| Right Bundle Branch Block | Wide QRS complex that appears like an "M" in shape. S-T segments have a downward slope. |
| First-Degree Heart Block | Regular rhythm with prolonged PR interval. |
| Normal Sinus Rhythm | Regular atrial and ventricular rates are 60-100 beats per minute. P wave, QRS complex, and T wave present. All waves are similar in size and shape. |
| Third-Degree Heart Block | Regular rhythm with independent atrial and ventricular rhythms. Atrial rate usually faster than ventricular. P wave occurs without a QRS complex. |
| Bradycardia | Regular atrial and ventricular rates are less than 60 beats per minute. P wave, QRS complex, and T wave present. All waves are similar in size and shape. |
| Atrial Fibrillation | P wave is replaced by fibrillatory waves. Rhythm is irregularly irregular. |
| Left Bundle Branch Block | Wide QRS complex that appears like a "V" in shape. S wave is broad. |
| Premature Atrial Contractions (PAC) | Irregular rhythm with premature and abnormal P waves. P wave may be superimposed on the preceding T wave. |
