Gibbous A moon phase that looks like more than a half circle from Earth
Galaxy A collection of stars, dust, and gas bound together by gravity
Crescent A moon phase that looks like less than a half circle from Earth

Waxing Becoming more bright, intense, or strong
Umbra The darker part of the moon's shadow on the Earth
Penumbra The lighter part of the moon's shadow on the Earth
