Producers are... Organisms that use energy from the sun to carry out photosynthisis.
Consumers are... Organisms that get energy when they feed on producers or other consumers.
Decomposers are... Organisms that obtain energy by breaking down other organisms.
An example of a decomposer is a... fungi or worm.
A food chain shows... How energy from food is passed from one organism to another.
A FOOD WEB is... Series of overlapping food chains
An ENERGY PYRAMID is... Like a food chain. It compares the energy avalable at each level of the food chain.
3 materials that cycle through the enviroment are... Carbon, Water, Nitrogen
3 parts of the WATER CYCLE are... Evaporation, Condensation, evaporation
Nitrogen cannot be used in its original form. So we need NITROGEN FIXATION. What is that? NITROGEN FIXATION is when certain plants take nitrogen and combine it with other elements so that humans and animals can use it.
Scavenger= An amimal that feeds on the bodies of dead animals.
Carnivore= A consumer that only eats animals.
Herbivore= A consumer that only eats plants.
Omnivore= A consumer that eats a variaty of organisms.
Mimicry= A copy of another organism by looking the same.
