Vocabulary about how the planets move and act
| Term | Definition |

| Axis | The imaginary line on which an object rotates |
| Rotation | The spinning of an object on its axis |
| Day | The time required for an object to rotate once on its axis |
| Orbit | The path that an object follows around another object in space |
| Revolution | The movement or motion of an object that travels around another object in space. One complete trip of an object around another object. |
| Year | The time it takes for an object to make one complete revolution around another object |
| 24 hours | One Earth day, or one complete rotation of the Earth on its axis |
| 365.24 days | One Earth year, or one complete revolution of the Earth around the sun |
| Diameter | A straight line that passes through the center of a circle or sphere |
| Mass | How much matter is in an object |
| Surface Gravity | The amount of gravitational pull experienced on the surface of an object |
