axis I lists the admit diagnosis
axis II lists the developmental or personality disorder
axis III lists the general medical diagnosis
axis IV lists the current life event/stressor
axis V lists the GAF
autism or MR would be listed as axis II
brain injury or hypothyroidism would be listed as axis III
loss of a loved one, the loss of a job or starting a new job would be listed as axis IV
depression, schizophrenia or social phobias would be listed as axis I
a higher GAF indicates what level of functioning higher level
