| Term | Definition |

| Atmosphere | A thin layer of gasses surrounding Earth |
| Biosphere | The part of earth where life exists, including water, land, and the atmosphere |
| Clouds | A mass of droplets or crystals that float above earth |
| Condensation | The change in state from gas to liquid |
| Crystallization | When water freezes and merges |
| Density | The measurement of how tightly a material is packed together |
| Earth Systems | The four main systems of earth - hydrosphere, lithosphere, atmosphere, biosphere |
| Fog | A cloud at ground level |
| Geosphere | All of the rock at and below Earth's surface |
| Glacier | Large masses of ice that move over land |
| Groundwater | Water that fills in gaps underground |
| Hydrosphere | All the water on earth, 97% of which being the oceans |
| Landform | A naturally formed feature on earth e.g - Dunes, islands, coastlines, mountains, etc. |
| Pathway | How water moves on land through gravity |
| Precipitation | Any form of water falling from clouds (snow, rain, sleet, hail) |
| Runoff | Water that flows over the ground instead of soaking into it |
| Transpiration | Evaporation of water from the leaves of a plant |
| Water Cycle | The cycle of how water evaporates, condensates, and precipitates. |
