Seasons

TermDefinition
Rotation The action of an object moving in a circle around a central fixed point.
Axis An imaginary line through the centre of an object, around which the object turns.
Revolve To go in a circle around a central point.
Tilt To move, or make something move, into a position with one side or end higher than the other.
Orbit A curved path followed by a planet or an object as it moves around another planet, star, moon, etc.
Hemisphere One half of the earth, especially the half above or below the equator.
Equator An imaginary line around the earth at an equal distance from the north and south poles
Waxing Moon The right side appears brighter, it happens after a new moon. -> New moon to Full moon
Waning Moon Left side appears brighter, and happens after a full moon. -> Full moon to new moon
Full Moon When earth is between the sun and the moon. (Appears to be fully visible)
New Moon The moon is
