Water Cycle and Weather Patterns
| Term | Definition |

| Water Cycle | The continuous movement of water. |
| Humidity | The amount of water in the air. |
| Atmosphere | The gases that surround the earth. |
| Solar Energy | Provides energy for Earth, including water cycle, photosynthesis, food webs, etc. |
| Condensation | The process when a gas changes back into a liquid. Ex: Clouds forming |
| Precipitation | Any form of water that falls from the clouds. (rain, snow, sleet, hail) |
| Evaporation | The process whena liquid changes into a gas. |
| Transpiration | The process in which plants give off water through their stomata. |
| Run-off | Water returning to the ocean by streams and rivers. |
| Climate | the average weather over a long time (30 or more years) |
| Weather | Daily changes in the atmosphere that can change short term. |
