lysosome contains enzymes that digest food, kill and destroy bacteria, and take worn out and broken cell parts
centriole help organize cell division in animal cells
cilia hairlike structures with the capacity for movement
flagellum long, hairlike structure used for movement
cell plate during cytokinesis, the new cell wall that begins to form in the middle, dividing the two sides
chromosome rod-shaped bodies that carry genetic information
gene units of heredity
nuclear pore minute hole in nuclear membrane
plastid stores food or contains pigment
microtubule microscopic cylinders that support and give the cell shape
