| Dawn phenomenon | A rise in glucose between 4 A.M. and 8 A.M. that is not a response to hypoglycemia |
| Encephalopathy | Generalized brain dysfunction marked by varying degrees of impairment of speech, cognition, orientation, and arousal |

| Lipodystrophy | Disturbance of fat metabolism. Common findings include localized accumulation of fat under the skin and on the trunk, or fatty atrophy |
| Nephropathy | Disease of the kidney. It includes inflammatory (nephritis), degenerative (nephrosis), and sclerotic lesion of the kidney |
