Indications Moderate to severe hypertension (used with a diuretic)
Action Direct acting peripheral arteriolar vasodilator
Therapeutic effect Lowering of blood pressure, in hypertensive patients, and decreased afterload in patients with CHF
Adverse effects tachycardia, sodium retention, drug induced lupus syndrome
Nursing Monitor bp, and pulse.
Labs CBC, electrolytes, ANA titer
PO Give with meals to adhance absorption
