| Term | Definition |

| Map | a flat, 2-dimensional drawing of land and water |
| Globe | a spherical scale model o the Earth |
| Latitude | geographical coordinate that specifies the north or south of the equator. |
| Longitude | distance measured in degrees east or west from an imaginary line that goes from the north pole to the south pole that passes though Greenwich, England. |
| Hemisphere | a half of the earth, usually divided into northern and southern halves by the equator, or into western and eastern halves by an imaginary line passing through the poles. |
| weather | the state of the atmosphere at a place and time as regards heat, dryness, sunshine, wind, and precipitation. |
| climate | the average weather conditions in an area over a long period. |

| Sea breeze | Local winds that blow from the sea to the land |
| Jet stream | a "river" of air high in the atmosphere |

| Warm fronts | Light winds, drizzle, ect. |
