| gravity | The force of attraction between all masses in the universe. |
| mass | A measure of the amount of matter in an object. |
| speed | A rate that tells distance traveled per unit of time. |
| distance | How far an object has moved. |
| acceleration | A change in the speed or direction of an object; the rate a which velocity changes. |

| refraction | Bending of light rays when they pass through a substance. |

| weathering | Process by which exposed rock is broken down by wind, water, or ice. |

| deposition | Process by which weathered and eroded material is deposited by wind, water, or ice. |
| friction | The force that two surfaces exert on each other when they rub against each other. |
| force | A push or pull that changes the motion of an object. |
| newtons | The unit of measurement for force. |
| direction | The path that a moving object follows. |
