Properties of matter

QuestionAnswer

What is crystalline? Particles that are arranged in a regular, repeating pattern
What is an amorphous? Moleculesthat are arranged irrigularly and they bend when heated.
Properties of a liquid: Molecules move faster than solids and slip past each other and takes the shape of its container
What is surface tension? A type of force that pulls liquid particles toward each other.
Properties of gases: The particles move very fast, it takes the shape AND volume of its container, the molecules also can spread out from each other, and molecules are always bumping into each other.
Properties of plasma Molecules are super energized, particles pull away from each other, consists of ions and energy, and it respond to magnetic fields.
What is an atom? Smallest unit of matter.
What is a molecule? A group of two or more atoms held together
Examples of atoms: O2, carbon, hydrogen.
What are some examples of a molecule? H2O, CO2.
What are some plasma sightings her on earth? Lightning, fire, plasma ball, northern lights, and electricity.
