Scientific Inquiry
| Term | Definition |

| Air Resistance | The force that acts in the opposite direction to an object moving through the air |
| Counterexample | An example that contradicts a conclusion |
| Phlogiston | Substance once believed to be the reason items burnt |
| Scientific Method | The process of observing, asking questions, and seeking answers through tests and experiments |
| Observation | Allows scientists to collect data |
| Hypothesis | An educationed guess that attemps to explain an observation or answer a question |
| Theory | A hypothesis that has been tested with a significant amount of data |
| Scientific Law | A theory that has been tested by and is consistent with generations of data |
| Conductivity | The resistance of a wire to electricity producing heat and light |
| Superconductivity | The one time belief that if the temperature was lowered enough, there would be no resistance to electricity through a wire |
