carrying capacity largest number of individuals of one species that an environment can support
birthrate number of offspring produced over given time period
death rate number of individuals that die over the same time period
extinct species species that died out and no individual are left
endangered species species who population is at risk of extinction
threatened species species at risk but not yet endangered
migration the instinctive seasonal movement of a population of organisms from one place to another
habitat place within an ecosystem where an organism lives
niche what a species does in its habitat to survive
producers organisms that get energy from the environment
consumers organisms that get energy by eating other organisms
symbiosis food or energy
mutualism symbiotic relationship which both partners benefit
commensalism a symbiotic relationship that benefits one species but does not harm/benefit the other
parasitism symbiotic relationship that benefits one species and harms the other
