QuestionAnswer
Different molecules can have different sizes, weights, shapes, and attraction strength. They are similar because they are all made of atoms and they all make up matter. All molecules of one substance are the same.
Different molecules have different properties. All matter is made up of atoms.
Atoms are the smallest pieces of matter Water molecules are highly attracted to each other and many other kinds of molecules
Property - what you can observe or measure about something that helps you identify or describe it. Substance - matter that is made of only one kind of atom or molecule.
Mixture - matter that is made of more than one substance. Observe - to use any of the five senses to gather information about something.
Matter - the stuff that things are made of. Atom - a tiny piece of matter that is too small to be seen.
Molecule - a group of atoms joined together in a particular way. Molecule - a group of atoms joined together in a particular way.
Model - something scientists make to answer a question about the real world. Attract - to pull an object, even without touching it.
Evidence - information that supports an answer to a question. Inference - something you figure out based on observations and what you already know.
Chromatography is a technique used to separate mixtures into their component substances.
