QuestionAnswer
Property What you can observe or measure about something that helps you identify or described it.
Substance Matter that is made of only one kind of atom or molecule.
Mixture matter that is made of more than one substance.
Observe To use any of the five senses to gather information about something.
Matter The stuff that things are made of.
Atom A tiny piece of matter that is too small to be seen.
Molecule A group of atoms joined together in a particular way.
Model Something scientists make to answer a question about the real world.
Attract To pull an object, even without touching it.
Evidence Information that supports an answer to a question.
Inference Something you figure out based on observations and what you already know.
Why did the food coloring separate into different dyes. The food coloring separated into different dyes because the molecules in the dyes had different properties. As the dyes moved up the paper, they were attracted to the water molecules.
