| 1. (Knowledge) | Operate only with instructor’s permission and after you have received instruction. |
| 2.(Knowledge) | Remove dangling jewelry, eliminate loose clothing and confine long hair. |
| 3.(Knowledge) | Always use proper eye protection. |
| 4.(Knowledge) | Hold material securely with vice, clamps or your hand |
| 5.(Knowledge) | The long end of the material should extend to the left of the operator. |
| 6.(Knowledge) | Make sure the key is removed from the chuck. |
| 7.(Knowledge) | Clean up waste with a chip brush. |
| 8.(Knowledge) | Turn off power if the material is caught in the drill |

| 3.(Operations) | Center material under the drill bit |
| 4.(Operations) | Hold the material firmly with your LEFT hand |
| 5.(Operations) | Turn the machine ON |
| 6.(Operations) | Do NOT drill into the vice |
| 7.(Operations) | Grasp the feed handle by the top knob with your RIGHT hand |
| 8.(Operations) | Turn the feed handle until the depth stop engages |
| 9.(Operations) | Slowly reverse the feed handle motion until the drill bit returns the start position |
| 10.(Operations) | Turn the machine OFF |
| 11.(Operations) | Clean off all waste with a chip brush |
