| converging winds | When winds blow towards one another, meet, and air moving is forced upward into the atmosphere. |
| air pressure | the pressure caused by the weight of a column of air pushing down on an area |
| Monsoons | seasonal wind patterns that cause wet and dry seasons |
| Condensation and cloud formation | The change of state from a gas to a liquid- forms clouds |
| Evaporation | The change of state from a liquid to a gas, increases humidity |
| El Nino | A warm ocean current that flows along the coast of Peru every seven to fourteen years |
| Cloud Condensation Nuclei (CCN) | Small particles in the air, largely dust particles, that water vapor condenses onto when forming clouds |
| specific heat | The amount of energy required to raise the temperature of 1 gram of a substance by 1 degree celcius |
| Coriolis effect | The effect of Earth's rotation on the direction of winds and currents. |
