converging winds When winds blow towards one another, meet, and air moving is forced upward into the atmosphere.
air pressure the pressure caused by the weight of a column of air pushing down on an area
Monsoons seasonal wind patterns that cause wet and dry seasons
Condensation and cloud formation The change of state from a gas to a liquid- forms clouds
Evaporation The change of state from a liquid to a gas, increases humidity
El Nino A warm ocean current that flows along the coast of Peru every seven to fourteen years
Cloud Condensation Nuclei (CCN) Small particles in the air, largely dust particles, that water vapor condenses onto when forming clouds
specific heat The amount of energy required to raise the temperature of 1 gram of a substance by 1 degree celcius
Coriolis effect The effect of Earth's rotation on the direction of winds and currents.
water high specific heat Water takes a long time to heat up and to cool down
