Winds and Atmosphere

Earths Atmosphere and How Wind Works.

Second Highest Layer, Warmest layer. Thermosphere
outer layer of Earths Atmosphere in which space shuttles fly. Exosphere
is the movement of air from an area of high pressure to low pressure. wind
rotation of the Earths causes moving air and water to shift to the right north of the equator and left south of the equator Coriolis Effect
Wind is caused by convection currents
a convection current is caused by Hot air (which is less dence) rising and Cold air (which is more dence) sinking to try to fill in where the hot air was.
Near the equator, very little wind and daily rain patterns called Doldrums
between the equator and 30 degrees latitude (north or south) are called Trade Winds
Between 30 degrees and 60 degrees latitude (north or south) are steady Westerlies
blow from Northeast to Southwest near the North Pole and from Southeast to Northest near the southpole Poler Easterlies
a convection current blows wind from the cooler sea toward warmer land during the Day Sea Breeze
a convection current blows wind from the cooler land toward warmer water at Night Land Breeze
