Independent Variable the variable that is being tested in the experiment
Dependent Variable the data that is being collected
Control Group the group of subjects in the experiment that receive normal treatment; no IV
Experimental Group the group of subjects in the experiment that receives the independent variable
Constants factors that stay the same between the control group and experimental group
Hypothesis a prediction of what will happen in an experiment
Y-axis the vertical axis; where the DV always goes
X-axis the horizontal axis- where the IV or time always goes
TASK The four parts always needed on a graph- Title, Axis Labels, Scale, Key
