Light Energy
| Term | Definition |

| Light Energy | A form of energy that we can see that travels in a straight line until it interacts with an object or moves from one medium to another |
| Transmit | to pass light through a substance |
| Medium | Any substance through which light travels. |
| Reflection | the light energy that bounces off objects |
| Refraction | The bending of a light wave as it moves from one medium to another |
| Absorb | When the light is trapped in a substance and does not transmit, reflect, or refract light |
| Translucent | Allowing light to pass through, some light pass through, but can't see through clearly; scatters light |
| Opaque | impossible to see through; preventing the passage of light |
| Transparent | Allows light rays to pass through without scattering |
| Prism | A piece of glass that separates (bends) white light into colors of the spectrum. |
| Mirror | An item that reflects light back to the person looking in it. |
| Lens | An object made to refract light in a specific way. |
