QuestionAnswer
The heart is a part of which body system? Cardiovascular
The correct order of organisation is: Cells - Tissues - Organs - Organ systems - Organism.
The reproductive organ that is found in both plants and the female reproductive system is the: Ovaries
Why do all cells require energy? To help them stay alive
What is the process that plant cells use to produce glucose? Photosynthesis
What is the word equation for photosynthesis? Carbon dioxide + water + (light energy) glucose + oxygen gas.
What organelle does photosynthesis occur in The chloroplast.
There is a relationship between photosynthesis and respiration. Outline how these two processes are linked in plants. Photosynthesis converts carbon dioxide and water into oxygen and glucose. Cellular respiration converts oxygen and glucose into water and carbon dioxide.
Why do multicellular organisms require body systems to survive? The cells get oxygen and nutrients
What is the difference between human and plant reproductive systems? Plant can reproduce both sexually and asexually whereas humans reproduce only sexually
Describe how the digestive and circulatory systems work together. Your digestive system absorbs water and nutrients from the food you eat. Your circulatory system carries oxygen, water, and nutrients to cells throughout your body.
Outline the pathway of the structures air travels through when you breathe in. Air enters the respiratory system through the nose and mouth and passes down the throat (pharynx) and through the voice box, or larynx.
Describe the process of pollination. Pollen from the male part of the plant) rubs or drops onto a pollinator. The pollinator then take this pollen to another flower, where the pollen sticks to the stigma (the female part). The fertilized flower later yields fruit and seeds.
Describe three features of leaves that assist them in performing photosynthesis. Chloroplast contains a photosynthetic pigment called chlorophyll. The stomata helps regulate water loss from the leaves. leaves have a thin structure so that they can provide a short distance for carbon dioxide to diffuse into leaf cells.
What are two functions of the human skeleton? Protects and supports the organs, allows movement.
What is the role of mitosis? To replace and remake cells.
What is the role of meiosis? To produce sex cells
What happens if cell growth is uncontrolled? Tumors can occur
