| Thermal heat energy | Total amount of kinetic(movement) and potential (stored) energies in the molecules of a substance. |
| heat | transfer of thermal energy from a wamer substance to a cooler one. |
| conduction | the transfer of heat from a wamer object to a cooler object through direct contact |
| convection | .a movement in gas or liquid which the warmer parts move up and the cooler parts move down. |
| electromagnetic waves | waves traveling thorugh space carrying electromagnetic radiant energy |
| conductor | a material that is good at transmitting energy or electricity |
| insulator | a material little or no heat, or sound to go into or out of something . |
| radiation | energy that comes from a source in the form of wave's or rays you cannot see. |
| temperature | a mesurement of how hot or cold something is. |
| transfer | to move (someone or something) from one place to another. |
| expand | the act of growing or increasing(larger). |
| contarct | the act of shrinking or decreasing (smaller) |
| cycle | a series of events that are regularly repeated in the same order |
| absorb | to soak up or take in |
| particle | one of the very small parts of matter (as a molecule, atom, or electron |
| transmit | to pass through or move |
| heat resistant | a material that doesn't let heat pass through |
| density | the degree of compactness of a substance. |
