Organelles

TermDefinition
Nucleus control center of the cell that contains DNA
Cell wall found outside the cell membrane, gives the plant structure
Cell membrane controls what goes in and out of the cell
Cytoplasm gel like fluid that holds the organelles in place
Endoplasmic Reticulum transports materials around the cell
Golgi bodies packages and transmits material around the cell
Vacuoles storage space for food, water, and other materials
Mitochondria breaks down food to make energy for the cell
Lysosomes aids in digestion and waste removal
Chloroplast performs photosynthesis to make food for the plant
Ribosomes makes protein for the cell
Cytoskeleton network of fibers that holds the cell together, helps the cell keep it's shape.
