| Carrying Capacity | Maximum (most) number of individuals for a particular species that the environment can “carry” or sustain |
| Predator | Animal that hunts other animals for food. |

| Organism | a living thing |
| Producer | Organisms that make their own food. |
| Consumer | Organisms that eat other organisms. |
| decomposer | An organisms that breaks down dead matter. |
| species | A groups of similar organisms that can reproduce. |
| population | all the members of one species that live in an area. |
| community | all the living organisms that live and interact in the same habitat. |
| habitat | The place where an organism lives. |
| Biome | A large area characterized by its vegetation, soil, climate, and wildlife. |
| Aquatic Ecosystem | Ecosystem found in and around a body of water |
| Terrestrial Ecosystem | a land-based community |
| food chain | one path of energy transfer. |
| Food Web | It shows multiple paths of energy transfer. |
| Biotic | Living, or from a living organism. |
| Abiotic | Never living or never will be living. |
